Anyone who believes otherwise is lucky to have had no brush with the law. The really alarming effect of corruption in India is that the government is busy warding off inccessant attacks on its integrity, with the help of spokesmen who have lost credibility because of their brazen approach, leaving every individual to either exploit the vaccum in official surveillance or to wade through the quagmire of corruption day in and day out losing faith in not only the Govt but, worse, in every fellow human being.I started as a die-hard supporter of the Establishment but since retirement my experiences make me believe that I owe my life and trouble-free existence to obscure circumstances and not to any organisation or Govt with the sole exception of the Army which has given me the strength to bear it all. I shudder to imagine how girls grow up in such a hostile environment This is life here today and the irony of it is there are many claiming to be proud of it.

It can be worse.
