Reykjavik to Jökulsárlón and Back in 1 Day
I recently spent three days in Iceland with my girlfriend. We rented a car, so we had a bit of flexibility. We first did the obligatory trip to the Blue Lagoon, and then spent a day driving the Golden Circle, both of which were worth the hype. Then we were left with one more day, and we weren’t sure how best to use it. I had heard that the glacial icebergs at Jökulsárlón were a must-see, but at a 782km round trip drive, it seemed a bit ambitious. I read quite a few forums and posts that all recommended going, but they also recommended spending the night somewhere in the South. I did find some posts from a few who had
You Don’t Have to Suffer Through Bad Meetings
A very true post from my friend Adam Sigel: The other day my friend Max was asking how to have better meetings. He’s a bright guy, so I was sort of surprised that the obvious answer evaded him: have an agenda and share it in advance. As our conversation continued, I realized that his problem was not functional but procedural. Max is among the countless people who have bad meetings thrust upon them by others. He was wondering how to impart change in someone else’s domain. Anyone invited to a meeting has the ability to improve it and the right to skip it. If someone sends an invitation without an agenda, ask for one. No one will be upset. You’ll be surprised
Scotland Photos
I recently returned from a trip to Scotland and Iceland, both of which were incredible places to shoot. It took me quite some time to go through and edit the photos, but here’s my first batch from Scotland. We started in Glasgow, then rented a car working out way from Loch Lomond up though Glen Coe, the Isle of Skye, and then up to Ullapool and Achiltibuie, before driving back south to Edinburgh via Loch Ness and Spean Bridge. I’d definitely recommend the route. Here are some highlights: More here.

Bob Lefsetz on Changing Markets and Jeff Bezos
I thought this was thoughtful: “You double down in a crisis. When the stock market tanks, you don’t pull your money out, you buy. This was the record labels’ biggest mistake, it haunts them to this day, when Napster hit they should have started spending, getting ready for the new reality, instead they kept cutting and no one under thirty works there anymore, certainly not anybody with any ambition. Just because newspapers are financially challenged, that does not mean there’s no more need for NEWS! And that’s the dirty little secret, despite all the opinionated bloviating online, there’s very little newsgathering going on online, certainly not when it comes to the big issues of the day…finance, politics and international developments.

It was my first (and probably last) time seeing the Stones. It was awesome: The iPhone zoom isn’t so bad!
